me.

i am so mad at the new "tight pants" phase.

fuck you pretentious pricks who don't know how to dress but wait for fucking corporates to tell you how to dress with their flashy billion dollar-sucubus like "BE LIKE ME AND SELL OUT" ads.

ppl often don't understand why i get mad at these things. or rather, i get annoyed.
why? because what i like/love gets commercialized. what i like is then worn by girls who don't know anybetter but wear it cos its popular and oh so "cute."

oh don't get me wrong, i indulge in the fact that my items that i love are now cheaper and more abundant then ever. but when i see a formerly a&e/aberstupid/whorllister/ilackstyle girl wear it like she thinks she has style but we all know she saw it on the stupid fucking mannaquin and bought watever was the set trend for the fall.

now with that explosion.
let's recollect on when things i liked got popular and made me cringe its just accumulated for me and the tight pants phase has just sent me over board along with warhol.

1. tight pants. in highschool i used to sew my pants really really tight. i wore it forever. till the point where my legs went numb. it was a style that i believe was originated by punks. but now everyone is a fucking wannabe punk. you don't know what it is. you don't know what it means. but note, i am not a punk. but it gets really complicated here becaues then it goes on to understandings in my own head.

2. warhol. in highschool, i had to do research, and studies warhol. i love warhol. i love the essence of his work and the ideas surrounding it. albeit, the commericialization and commodification is something that he probably would want, i don't like it. girls are wearing his purse. people are putting his work on their walls thinking its cool because they saw it in urban outfitters. he is on notebooks. he is on wallets. its annoying. now it seems that when i like warhol its just another result of commercialization. fuck. no.

3. gwen stefani. i fucking love her. i've loved her since the sixth grade. people don't know her original music. but like the kiisfm versions. they don't know that she was part of a ska band with her brother at one time. she's from SOCAL. she was in this small band called no doubt. her music now does no justice to her voice. but rather, ppl are liking her popularity. her as a product. she's beautiful/amazing. its sad.

4. all-american rejects. in the old days, i almost bought their shirt for like 12 bucks. but didn't cos i didn't have a credit card. now its like 423908 dollars.

5. tights worn under the skirt. well fucking i remember the time i had to look ALL OVER for black tights and finally found it in target in the exercise section and all of a sudden its EVERY WHERE. again it was a style worn by real punks. not hot topic punks. there is a difference. me and my brother have this theory that anything stylish now was started by those who resisted and who were once some kind of punks of some sort. its a form/indication of rebellion/ its a way to set you apart. but how are we suppose to be set apart when corporate america keeps stealing it and selling it.

okay that's all for now. i wil add as i get annoyed.
but please if you like those things now this is in no way to bash you. i still love you. but i would like you to question things. question why is it that something has to be sold and publicized with million dollars going down the drain. your being brain washed. what you like is what they like. its difficult when i see my favorite things being "sell outs" because it hurts my heart. :( when i see people who dont' really feel the music or they do it because it's what dominant society finds socially acceptable. not only is it socially acceptable, its deemed necessary to "fit in."

well fuck you.(not you you, but dominant society.)

i still like tight pants tho :*(
oh walking contradictions.
